Commission B Discussed Development of Pulogadung PIK

Jakarta DPRD Commission B held a joint meeting along with the Pulogadung Small and Medium Enterprises Development Management and Residential Area Management Unit (UPK PPPUKMP).

Jakarta DPRD Commission B Secretary, Darrusalam said the meeting was held to revive the Small Industry Village (PIK) in the region.

"PIK is no longer part of the Jakarta icon. Production, maintenance and coaching for UKM is weak," he expressed, at City Council building, Monday (10/9). 

In the meeting, he assessed, it was known the Pulogadung UPK PPUKMP has some constraints. Among them are low supporting budget to develop business centers and access to the area of Pulogadung PIK.

"From the meeting, we hope they can return again in conducting the guidance of UKM. Thus the area is able to become the second business center after Tanah Abang," he uttered.

In the meantime, Pulogadung UPK PPUKMP Head, Jhon Frial explained, in addition to constrained funding and access, the stigma in the people to use branded goods is also a barrier of business actors in developing business PIK.

"For the future work program, we will explain the master plan that we have made," he said.
